March 16th, 2010 - Starting April 17th, filmmakers from all over the galaxy will descend on the state’s capital for the one and only Sacramento International Film Festival (SFF).

This year’s theme is a DIGITAL ODYSSEY recognizing the amazing recent changes in the entertainment industry.

Sacramento Film Festival ™ boasts our region’s greatest showcase of cinema art. At 5pm on April 17th, join us at The Crest Theater for the premiere of 3rd World America, Costa Mantis’ gripping account of Tent City and the search for ‘safe ground’ by our city’s homeless population. This double feature includes a catered reception by Chipotle and the ever popular 48 Hours Sacramento short film presentation.

On April 18th the festival moves to the California State Railroad Museum for a NATIVE CINEMA day. These are films that feature Native American content including the amazing Last Days of The Shishmaref about an Eskimo tribe quickly losing its way of life in the face of global warming.

On Monday April 19th we move to the 24th Street theater for a week of amazing cinematic treats including Slamdance 2010 grand Jury winner Snow and Ashes, (7pm Tuesday April 20th), Red Poet, the story of San Francisco’s poet laureate Jack Hirschman (7pm Wednesday April 21st) and our the instant classic, gangster film Charlie Valentine ( 8pm Friday the 23rd) starring Raymond G. Berry and Michael Weatherly (NCIS).

To celebrate our theme we’ll also feature a DIGITAL ODYSSEY CONFERENCE on Saturday, April 24th for media consumers as well as game makers, movie producers and internet providers.Stay tuned for more details on more exciting events and very special guests. The Sacramento Film Festival 2010 is pure cinema excitement!
